i have just bought my daughter a pc off a car boot sale.it only cost me 7 so it didnt cost the earth.the problem is the administartaor has got a password set which i am unable to get around.the pc is windows xp based.but until i can get round this i cannot do anthing.has any body got any ideas.ive tried evrything posible.i cant run in safe mode either as it still syas i need to be a n admin to do the stuff i need to do.ive tried doing the cmd stuff deleting the sam files and all the normal stuff.any ideas please can somebody help me.my little girl is despearte

There is an application that can be used to reset the Admin password. However if there are encrypted files on the hard drive, then these will not be accessible without the original Administrator password. The application can be downloaded from here:
http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/

There is another method that requires the Windows CD and Product Key. You should have these, if there is no product key then the operating system is unlicensed.
