1) please start a new thread for a new problem. This bears no relation to the topic of this thread
2) the barracuda 7200.12 range are internal SATA drives, not USB ones. What actually is this device you are trying to use? Is it a drive you've fitted to a caddy?
3) What are the details of the computer. What make / model? What operating system
4) You say you can't change the drive letter. But can you actually access the drive?

Please respond in a new thread

This is what I was sent as a PM by the original poster:

"what i have is a exturnal hard drive wich plugs into my usb.
i can see it when i click on manage on my computer it is there and my usb reconised it
but i can not use the hard drive my computer only shows c drive my external hard drive should be e drive
please can you help sort this out"

OK, so some more questions to follow on from my previous post
!) has this drive ever worked? Has it just stopped working, or is it new and never worked?
2) is the power supply plugged in and working?
3) what happens if you try it on another USB port?
4) what happens if its plugged into another computer?
5) what is the make / model and operating system of the computer?
6) is it plugged directly into the PC or into a hub?
7) what other USB devices do you have? Do they work OK?
