I run Microsoft word 2003 and print documents with a Canon BJC-265SP printer. Whenever I wanted to cancel a print task in progress, it takes a very long time to delete it in the print icon that appears in the taskbar especially when the file is a large one.
Is there anything I could to speed up deleting the ongoing print task?
what I do now is restarting the computer

I think this is fairly normal. I've always had this problem as long as I've been using Windows!

What do you call a long time? This can take a while to work.

One thing you can try is disabling print spooling, to do this do the following:
Arrow Go to the Printers folder
Arrow Right click on your printer, and select Properties
Arrow On the Advanced tab, select Print Directly to the Printer
Arrow OK everything and try now.
