I have windows Xp and am having trouble with my printer - canon pixma MP500. It was working perfectly yesterday but now when I try to print or scan there is a grating noise after it has been turned on for a few seconds and then an error message comes up "Error 6000". Does anyone know why?
Many thanks

This could be a paper jam. Check the printer thoroughly for any paper or other foreign objects in it. The smallest piece of paper can cause these issues.

It could also be a faulty printer, but need to make sure there is nothing causing the issue.
