Hi

I've got a series of paper documents which I would like to scan as pdf files.
What Should I do in order to have these documents in a single pdf file and not as individual files?

Thanks.

When you scan the pages do you get jpg or pdf files? If jpg what pdf converting software do you currently use?

I get to select which format (jpeg, bitmap, pdf etc) to save the scanned image but I don't know how to save the documents in a single pdf file.

I've only got the Adobe pdf reader.

Most flatbed scanners will not do what you are asking. They just produce one file per sheet they scan.

There are 2 ways you can do this, you can either create several pdf files and merge them with software. I know you like free software - the only free one without limitations I could find is PDF Split and Merge. Another way is to install a PDF printer and scan all your pages as jpeg and use Windows to print them all to the PDF Printer giving you a PDF file (this is a little more complex to setup for free).

Here's another one that I have used. http://www.adolix.com/split-merge-pdf/ Limited to 10 pages for the free version, but nothing stopping you creating multiple 10 mage documents and then merging them.
