does anyone know how to fix (and how it happened)
1: when my computer is turned on i have a black screen with a small flashing line in the corner of the screen.
it can take up to ten minutes to start loading.

2: when i go to help and support on my menu bar if i click on anything there it comes up saying Question Question undefined

It will help if you can tell us what operating system (version on Windows) you are using.

Also, has the system got gradually worse over time, or has it suddenly got like this? If suddenly, did you install any new hardware of software?

i have not installed any new hardware or software.it just suddenly happened has been doing it for about a week .
i have windows xp home version

I take it the blinking cursor happens before the Windows boot screen comes up. If so then the problem is with the PC trying to initialise the hardware.

Try disconnecting everything from the PC, except the monitor, keyboard and mouse. See if that improves the time that the cursor stays there. If it returns to normal, plug everything in one by one checking the boot time between plugging in each device to see if one causes the delay.

Also, with regard to the issue of the Help and Support not working, does it give the error undefined when you click on Help and Support in the Start menu, or when you go on to click the Windows Update link?
