| hi can anyone help please i have a acer aspire 5315 laptop and it is not very old but my cd/dvd drive does not work,,when i insert a disc it will not recognise and play anything,,the light comes on for 2 seconds and goes back off,,i hav gone into device manager and it says this device is working proply and do not need updating can any1 help please thankyou. |

It's probably a faulty drive.
Try using an original disk, then go in to My Computer and double click on the CD drive. What happens? _________________ "Microsoft programs are generally bug-free. | i put an original disc in an went to my computer and clicked on cd drive and it just ejects the cd an says insert cd,,like it is unable to read it |

Either the drive is faulty or the lens on the drive is dirty. If it's a laptop you could try cleaning the lens with a cotton bud, jut be careful not to apply too much pressure.
