Hi

I've got a external USB hard drive that came formatted in FAT 32, would it be possible to re format in NTFS so that I could copy a 4GB file onto it?

Thanks.

Yes. In XP/Vista, just remove the existing partition, create a NTFS partition and format that - note that this will completely remove all data from the drive so you should back up any data you wish to keep first.

Worth noting, that I believe you have to be a bit more careful when removing NTFS drives. Use the remove hardware tool in the system tray.
