Use the latest version of Firefox, currently 9.0.1 _________________ "Microsoft programs are generally bug-free. Softstag is right - upgrade to the latest version
But while you are at it, also upgrade any Firefox plugins and extensions
However it is worth noting that from version 4 onwards Firefox seems to have become less stable - certainly some of the specialist press remarks on it.
I find I get at least one complete Firefox lock up each day - but that MAY be because I've got an unusually large number of security extensions loaded |

It could be due to one of your add-ons. Try starting the safe mode option of Firefox (without add-ons). It's under the Help of the Firefox menu button.
