Question Good day from south africa. I have a weird one. Running 2 pc's [retired and making dvd's]
1. pc 1 has a nvidia 7300 gt graphics running beatifully
2. pc 2 has a new nvidia 6200 graphics cars. both os are exactly the same, all updates. allnew drivers etc etc
3. problem..the 6200 graphics card nvidia 3d image settings with preview on pc 2 with 6200 completely screwy ill try to include a snapshot
4. if i change the graphic cards around eg 6200 to pc 1 it works well and the 7300 in pc 2 it works. so there is nothing wrong with the card itself. put 6200 back in pc 2...the sme problem. changed hard drives, reinstalled windows but still the same...any ideas????[img]
Ill email the snapshot of the glitch and dxdiag results to anyone who might have an idea will really appreciate it Rudie[/img]

Ok lets try to rationalise this a bit by getting some information
1) what version of windows are the two machines running?
2) what motherboards do they have? (there could be some kind of chipset compatibility issue at play)
3) which versions of the nVidia drivers are on the two machines? Please don't say "new" or "latest". Version numbers please
4) what resolution are you running the cards at? What is the correct native resolution of the monitors?
5) you say the screensaver PREVIEW is screwy. Does it run OK in real time? Does it play games / videos OK?
6) which versions of DirectX do you have on the two machines?

tks for the reply
1. both machines running windows xp professional
2. machine 1 dell dimension 4600 pc 2 via motherboard with kt 600-8237 chipset
3.both machines on nvidia 260.99 desktop win xp 32 bit drivers
3. both running at 1024 x 768 pc 1 samsung lcd monitor pc 2 lg flatron monitor
4.movies/videos ok games not
5. direct x updated to latest 9c
6. not the screensaver that is screwy..control panel nvidia setting..adjust image settings with preview...definitely not 3d...flat, sharp and edgy
7.this card works 100% in pc 1 and pc 1 card nvidia 7300 gt works 100% in this pc so I dont think it is the card.. but if the 7300 works in this pc surely the 6200 should do the same??? I saw something like this before but cannot remember how it was resolved. The dxdiag test are all ok..only the 3d application not working. I can email you a photo of the app plus the dx diag test results Tried changing resolutions, frequencies etc etc..will keep on trying..and maybe find out it a small setting somewhere regards olliesnr

does PC 2 have the drivers for the onboard S3/Via display also installed?
Uninstall them if it does
Are there any older drivers for other cards still intalled on the machine?
