Hi all can anyone help! My mate some how deleted his windows internet exsplorer and now can connect to his internet, he still has windows explorer shourt cut but evry time it trys to connect an errer comes up then closeis down the page, is there any way of getting it back or is there anothere way of connecting to the internet, he removed it from add/remove prorgrams, Thanks

You should be able to add IE in the same way it was removed - through Add/Remove Programs. If you can let us know what version of Windows this is, we may be able to help a little better.

Alternatively, download Firefox on another computer and copy it over to this one on a flash drive and install there. Firefox is arguably a better browser anyway.

Yes, you should be able to remove and re-add internet explorer from Add/Remove programs. But it's not in with all your other software because it's part of windows so you have to choose the option to add/remove windows components.

u can just download IE8 and reinstall it. Btw, i recommend Google Chrome because of its speed. Wink Wink

I know this is way after the event, but I can't help feeling that everyone is looking in the wrong direction here
This sounds much more like a corrupt or incompatible plugin, or maybe even a browser hijack. Would have been interesting to see if IE would open with all plugins disabled, and what a scan with ComboFix found
