I've just opened up the above machine to check the memory installed. I took one of these out of the slot to check and put it back. I've put the base unit back together and turned the machine on to check it. Unfortunately it doesn't appear to want to boot up and just beeps twice and nothing happens. I have checked all the connections inside and they seem ok. Does anybody have any ideas on what might be wrong?

Thanks
Lisa

Were you getting this same problem before taking out the RAM? It could be that it is not properly seated in it's slot.

There are potentially many reasons for this, the most obvious mentioned by Steve. Did you put it back into the same slot it came from? Less likely, though still a potential problem, did you take any Electrostatic Discharge precautions?

Yep, if you put it back in firmly and did not wear a clip or keep one hand on the case or the floor at all times during the process you have probably killed the RAM through static charge.
