Do you want to make it look like you have a specific IP address, or do you want it to just not be yours?

If you don't want it to be yours, then you need to use an anonymous proxy server. Try doing a search in the Google box at the top of this page.

If you only want this on occasion then there are sites that allow you to browse the internet anonymously, such as Anonymouse.

Most fee anonymous browsing solutions will be slower than your normal connection. Also, be aware that whilst the host server may not know your IP address, there is always a trail back to you.

i decided to make a topic about this because ive tryed so many things and none of em seem to work so heres the story.

About 7 years ago my bro bought red alert 2 the game and played it online for years then a server called XWIS took over and he got banned for playing it because he cheated.

me and my younger brother want to play the game on the XWIS server as there arent any others nowadays, is there anyway in which if i bought a new game id be able to play.

if i was to play now the will just ban me because my brother is banned i think i would need a new ip address or something but im not entirely sure any help you culd give me on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Most forums and sites give you another chance if you
e-mail them and go through the correct dialogue with
the administrator.

Did you send a e-mail ?

I sent you the e-mail address in a PM on this site.

Remember a sincere apology and straightening out your
act goes a long way.

Most people have a dynamic IP address, so a different address is assigned each time you connect to the internet. They may be able to tell from the serial number of the game that you are using the same computer, but if you buy a new copy of the game and install that, I don't really see that they will associate you with your brother.

You might be best doing as Street1 suggests and contacting them. I'm sure they will be accommodating after 7 years!

Then you should contact them and try to patch things up. Your IP address must have changed in 7 years, as you say you use Sky as an ISP, they weren't around 7 years ago. I'm not sure how they relate you to your brother.

well at first we had telewest and he was banned on that but then he got banned on sky im not entirely sure how cos i wudve guessed the ip changed, i understand that my ip doesnt change because we use a wireless card connection and therefore it always gives the same ip address out.

Ive just went a sent them an email, but i dont know what the resulting action will be.

If they say no is there any wayn around it?

or must i simply accept the fact my brother has ruined it for me Sad?

Let us know how you get on. Unfortunately, they make the rules and it's up to them.
