I have a new Asus Laptop supplied with the usual charger.

I also have two chargers from an HP laptop which supply the same volt/amps
output as my new one.

Unfortunately, the plug in tip does not fit the Asus. I have been told that if I
use an adapter and change the tip, this will change the output from the charger.

Would anybody no if this is correct?

false economy
you'll probably find that the cost of a new charger is close enough to the cost of an adaptor (if you can find one) to make the exercise pointless.

In the UK an adaptor for an Acer would be around 20
