Hi everyone I hope someone can offer advice here as I am at a loss but no PC whizz kid either. I'm running a Dell XPS 720 Desktop PC it has 8gb RAM 2 x 750gb HDD's and running windows 7. I lose my sound after a few minutes of computer use if left to rest I will get it back for a few minutes when I start using it then gone again any suggestions please thanks Chris

strange one
I'm guessing here - does it coincide with the monitor powering down?
How are you outputting the sound - analog or digital?

I believe I am using analog I have one wire from the green computer round mini jack plug to the monitor speakers and no I do not think it coincides with the monitor powering down it needs a good rest before working for a short while again thanks Chris

strange one
try the usual - reinstall the drivers, but I'd be inclined to suspect the sound chip on the motherboard is faulty
This can't be very old - have a word with Dell as you may have a warrant claim here
