| Hi, I recently connected an external hard drive and to free up space I transferred my music to the F Drive. Coincidentally now I cannot burn or rip with my WMP . It suggests that I require to connect a burner or cd player . I am on Windows XP can you help ! |

What version of Windows Media Player are you using? Also, what is the exact error you get when you try to rip a CD, and when you try to burn a CD? _________________ "Microsoft programs are generally bug-free. I suspect your CD drive does not appear in My Computer also. Did this happen following uninstalling iTunes by any chance?
If your CD drive is not showing in My Computer then do the following:
Click Start then Run
Type regedit and click OK
Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
If there is an entry for LowerFilters then delete it
If there is an entry for UpperFilters then delete it
Close everything down, reboot and let us know if it now working _________________ "Microsoft programs are generally bug-free.
