Hi can anyone help me please?

I have a portable usb mass storage device, which, until now has been working fine.

I now plug it in and although my pc notes the new hardware added and in device manager states that the device is working properly, I am unable to locate the drive in My Computer.

The hardware assistant recognises the usb to ide bridge, but then nothing else. I've tried plugging in to a laptop (on its own battery not mains) and the same thing happens.

Please, please tell me I haven't lost all of the info on that drive! Is there anything I can do?

Regards

I must admit it doesn't sound good.

What version of Windows are you using? What is the mass storage device - camera, flash drive?

Can you also confirm that you were able to access these files previously from this computer?
