Hi Guys I hope you can help. Firstly my pc is under warranty but I have no patience .
So here goes, I have just bought a new pc arrived on 12th January, it’s a custom build. I asked for a clean HDD as I have my own OS but the system came with windows 7 installed. I went to install my own OS, it was booting of my HDD so I changed the setting to boot of my CD-ROM. The problem is that when it boots it goes to windows recovery and won’t boot of my CD-ROM. Does anyone know how this is. I have been in touch with the manufacturer and he told me to do a Memtset and email the results, I e mailed the results, but being late Friday he never got back, and they are closed on weekends (there were no fails, and I think it is a software issue)

I hope I have gave you enough info guys to help me install my own OS.

Thanks

I don't really understand what is happening here. I don't know what you mean by "windows recovery".

I assume if the PC boots from the hard drive, it boots in to a working version of Windows 7, but when you boot from your OS CD it goes to some "windows recovery"? If this is the case then the system is booting from the CD, just not doing what you expect. We really need to understand what OS you are trying to install.

Sounds like it's booting into the windows recovery console and not in fact booting from CD at all. Have you tried any other bootable CDs/DVDs in that machine?
