Top football prospects preparing for upcoming season

While several area football recruits are bouncing to and from college camps and combines this summer, Vero Beach defensive end Dwayne Hoilett is enjoying a chance to focus simply on preparations for the upcoming high school season.

Hoilett, a top prospect with more than 20 Division I offers, committed to the University of Miami last month and is the only area player from the Class of 2012 to have settled on a college.

The 6 foot 3, 220 pound lineman is so confident in his selection, he doesn plan to visit any other schools. However, Hoilett will attend the invite only Nike Opening Camp in Oregon this week as a chance to compete against the nation elite players.

pretty firm on my decision to go to Miami, said Hoilett, who committed while at Al Golden camp June 12. don need to see anywhere else.

that I have an idea where I want to go, that gives me more time to focus on getting more reps in the weight room and what I doing for conditioning and less time worrying about camps and recruiting. It nice to have more time to focus on this upcoming season. players such as Martin County safety/wide receiver Justin Simmons are taking the time off this summer to explore their options and showcase their talents wherever they can. He plans to also attend a camp at Florida Atlantic later this month.

Though Simmons said Boston College stands out among a list of offering schools that includes Western Michigan, Georgia State, Purdue and Illinois, he plans to hold off on any decisions until closer to the season.

College is so far looking good, but right now, I just waiting it out, Simmons said. all about my Nike Cyber Monday Deals faith and my religion I a Christian, and I just got the religious vibe up there. That one thing I looking for. From my visit, it seemed like they are a great group of people

I don know what in store for the future, but I know it hard to get into the pros, so I want to benefit from a good academic school, and they are that.

I have it figured out before the first game of the season, but we Nike Black Friday Sale see. Coast High School also has some Division I prospects to tout. Quarterback Travares Copeland, who transferred from Fort Pierce Westwood in November, and outside linebacker Patrick Jean have been drawing the most attention so far.

Copeland, recruited mostly as a wide receiver or defensive back, has offers from schools such as Illinois, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan Nike Black Friday Sale State, Wake Forest, West Virginia and Rutgers, while Jean list includes the likes of Kansas, Florida Atlantic, Louisville, Purdue and Western Michigan.

The two Titans recently attended a camp at Rutgers and have participated in other camps and combines this year, though Treasure Coast did not take players on its usual college tour.

Coach Irvin Jones said instead of going to college camps around the country this summer, the Titans are focusing more on what they need to do to improve and defend their district title.

Still, Jones said Copeland and Jean are making progress with the college recruiting process.

are wide open and just enjoying the whole process right now, Jones said. are getting a bunch of offers, but I don think they have any favorites. They are just waiting for the right opportunity to fall into place. It that way for a lot of kids. They know when it comes along. SCHOOL FOOTBALL DATES TO REMEMBER
