I hope that someone here will be able to help me with my problem. I have a flash drive that I saved some of my important files on a year ago and I password protected it. The problem is that I have forgotten my password. Is there a program or a way to retrieve my password or go around it? Or am I basically screwed and those files are lost forever?

is the DRIVE passworded / encrypted?
Or just the files?
Can you see the files using windows explorer (if so what kind of files are they) or can you not access the drive at all?
What software did you use to password it?

No. I cannot see the files at all. The entire flash drive is locked.

I'm not sure by what means you password protected it, however I would think that without the password you will not be able to access the files - that is the whole point of the password is it not?

Depending on the software used to apply the password, and whether it encrypts the files or not, you may have some luck with a professional data recovery service, however I wouldn't hold out much hope. Sorry.
