pop-up from winpatrol

i recently got this pop-up occuring:

i think i have stopped it by unchecking this option:

is my pc still safe though and isnt there another way to solve this??

wrong decision
by gettingr rid of the popup you are disabing protection against having your internet actiivties hijacked
Something is trying to change your HOSTS file. This is due to either a piece of protective software trying to help,or more likely a trojan trying to redirect you while on the web. You need to identify just what, and why.

I suggest you go to one of the dedicated malware removal forums such as
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/forum22.html
or the Malwarebytes forum at
http://forums.malwarebytes.org/
they both have more overall experience of malware removal than us
please read the rules of each forum before posting as they expect you to carry out specific tests first
e,g, they will expect to to run HijackThis! and report the scan results in your first post
