Hello,

Can somebody tell me how to take a snap shot of my screen?

This may sound stupid but when I hit the print screen keyboard button nothing happens so maybe I should be hitting the shift or Alt button as well but everything I have tried has failed.

Please help

In Windows, the PrintScreen button will take a screenshot and copy it to the clipboard. You can then paste it in to Paint, or some other application and save it as an image.

If you do <Alt>+<PrintScreen> it captures just the active window.
