Question I purchased my daughter a toshiba satellite L300D a few weeks ago and I think she has downloaded something which has left a virus which has crippled the system. When the laptop is switched on it takes forever to move on and when I try and delete all of the "rubbish" she has downloaded it won't let me. My brother-in-law seems to think there may be a recovery partition which would allow me to delete everything on it and let me start from scratch by re-loading windows vista home office etc. If this is the case, how do I do it? Hope you can help

To recover the laptop like you suggest would rely on a recovery/reload CD that came with the laptop. Booting from this CD would allow you to start the recovery.
