Hello
when saving a picture on the latest version of Firefox (right click, save picture as), does Firefox retrieve the copy from cache or redownload the picture from the Internet?
The picture file appears in the download box when saving a pic file.

| It downloads the file from the location in the link. Not from cache. |

Why is that?
What's cache for if Firefox has to redownload the files?
Thanks. _________________ One problem leads to another |

I think this depends on the images in question. Firefox doesn't cache everything (especially if it received a no-cache header or meta tag). I just did a little test on Firefox 3.5.2 whereby I loaded a page with images on it and disconnected from the internet, I then tried to save the images - if the image saves it is being saved from the cache. I tried this with 3 images, from very small to 2.9Mb - in all 3 cases the image saved without me being connected to the internet. So I would conclude that Firefox 3.5.2 saves from the cache where the file is available in the cache.
You mention that you are using the latest version of Firefox, however Firefox 3.0.x is still auto updating AFAIK, but 3.5.x is a newer, more feature rich build. _________________ "Microsoft programs are generally bug-free.
