Yesterday, when I turned on my computer, Security Shield appeared and started scanning. It wanted me to buy its full version. Since I did not download this program myself, I decided not to buy it, and I thought it might be a scam. Now all my programs stopped working and I don't know how to run them again. Does someone know? Sad

This is fake anti-malware software. You should remove it from your system. Removal instructions can be found here.

I know that most of these fake anti-virus programs can be removed in safe mode, but it is not recommended if you are not a computer expert. You can also have a look at this article:

Good luck!

PLEASE DO NOT USE THE SOFTWARE IN ALEXMO'S LINK

His post links to Spyhunter 4 - a program which scans, finds supposed malware (it misidentitifies cookies) as malware and then invites you to purchase the program to remove what its found. Hidden away in the T&Cs is a statement that the purchase is a 6-monthly subscription, not the one off purchase implied on the website. Besides which, the program isn't actually much use at removing malware.

The Malwarebytes program suggested by Softstag is free, and superior in all ways. However if that fails to remove the program, the best course of action is to
1) delete all temporary internet files
2) do a disk clean up to remove all temporary files
3) download and run in safe mode Hitman Pro
4) download and run in safe mode Combofix
5) Use Spybot S&D to remove any remaining junk

these are all free programs that can be trusted
