Hi kim190456, welcome to the forums.
Can you let us have the exact error message you are getting? _________________ "Microsoft programs are generally bug-free. Thank you for replying.
The exact message is as follows.
c:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger\msnmsgr.exe
The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more details.
Hope this helps |

| Several articles suggest that you need the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package” which can be obtained here download and run the file to install. |

Hi Markb - long time no see
There is a newer version of this that may help. 2 versions depending on whether you are running 32-bit or 64-bit Vista:
Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86) - 32 bit
Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x64) - 64 bit
Looking at articles where other people have had this issue, I haven't seen many positive results.
I hope this works for you kim190456! _________________ "Microsoft programs are generally bug-free. In Vista, go to Start then Control Panel. Double click on System and look for where it says System Type.
