Like many users on the forum, I rushed where angels fear to tread:-
I installed nusb33e on a Win98SE with a language other than english enabled. This lead to the Blue Screen of Death in the middle of the installation.
To make a long story short, I managed to get over the problem and I can use my Kingston 2.0 GB USB on Win98SE using the original Kingston drivers, but I can't run my Kingston 4.0GB USB on the same PC. Whenever I plug the 4.0GB it starts installing the driver, and when It reaches the 1394 thingy I get a BSOD on the file NTMAPHLP.PDR!
I want to try to do the almost impossible, to uninstall or replace the nusb33e installation.
My question is: Would work if I replaced all the following files from another PC with a good Win98SE (same langauge enabled) ?
1394.INF
1394BUS.SYS
aa.txt
aaa.txt
ADVPACK.DLL
CDVSD.VXD
CSETUP.EXE
DISKTSD.VXD
EXPLORER.EXE
HARDWARE.HLP
HOTPLUG.DLL
IOS.VXD
NODRIVER.INF
NTMAP.INF
NTMAP.SYS
NTMAPHLP.PDR
OHCI1394.SYS
QFECHECK.EXE
QFECHECK.HLP
SBP2PORT.SYS
SYSTRAY.EXE
USB2.INF
USBAUTH.SYS
USBEHCI.SYS
USBHUB20.SYS
USBMPHLP.PDR
USBNTMAP.INF
USBNTMAP.SYS
USBPORT.SYS
USBSTOR.INF
USBSTOR.SYS
USBU2A.SYS
USER.EXE
USER32.DLL
W95INF16.DLL
W95INF32.DLL
_NUSB.INF
_START.BAT
_USB2UN.INF
or would I have to do it differently? (i.e. get the original inf files and run them one by one in a specific order)

This might work - you can but try. Let us know how you get on....

If you visit the Microsoft hotline, you'll literally have to wait weeks if not months until someone calls in with a bug in one of our programs. 99.99% of calls turn out to be user mistakes. I know not a single less irrelevant reason for an update than bugfixes. The reasons for updates are to present more new features."
