Hello (yet again!)

I had copied all my desktop folders onto a disc in order to put them onto my new computer. I was just checking some of the documents that I transferred to the disc, to make sure everything is there, and I realized it's all "read only".

I cannot edit them. I need to be able to access all these documents on my new computer.

I know this is something basic but...what did I do wrong when transferring them? How can I make "read only" become "normal" so that I can edit?

Thanks!

I'm guessing you put them on to a CD or DVD. These are normally only read only once burned, therefore the files become read only. Once you copy them to the new PC, right click, select properties and remove the tick from Read Only. You should now be able to change these files.
