Unwanted dialog boxes everytime I start up my laptop

Everytime I boot up mu laptop...when the desktop appears installation dialog boxes appear asking me to insert a CD that I don't have to complete an installation of media software that I don't want...theres no option to stop these boxes from appearing in the future...help!!!

Try going to add/remove programs in your control panel and uninstalling it from there.

What's the name of the program that is trying to install?

Automatic startup can be disabled using the Microsft System Configuration tool. Go to Start->Run and type in "msconfig", no quotes. Go to the startup tab, and find the item that is launching. If you don't know exactly what it is, then don't disable things that you don't recognize, you may have issues with your system software that you actually need, like virus scanners and such. Hints may be file names or paths that you recognize.
