Hi, I was browsing the internet on my computer, when I found about 5 different porn sites had appeared. I am the only one who uses my computer and I haven't been on any of these kind of sites! so how have these shown up?

Either your computer has been hacked by viewing an infected site (of which there are many) or the sites themselves have been hacked and are providing the spew
Two things need doing
1) clean the machine
2) block it from happening again

before we advise how to do this, can you tell us
a) what security software you have on the machine
b) which version fo windows you are using
c) which internet browser are you using

Malwares could be the culprit here. Get a full scan done on your computer. Apart from that, whatever antivirus that you use will have an option to enable safe browsing. Enable it. This will give you suggestion for the sites that are safe to visit and does not contain virus. When you enable it and do a search. A little green or red tick mark would appear next to the links of the site stating which site is safe and which one is not.

I think it might be a result of a browser hijacker infection - these are viruses that redirect your searches and show unwanted pop-ups. You should definitely scan your PC.

Guys

can you please abstain from reopening old threads?
I asked him weeks ago to give more details of his software so that we could suggest just what software to use to clean the machine, and to identify what may be wrong. There was no response to that, so he's gone elsewhere. Absolutely no point in chasing the issue now - especially as neither of you have actually suggested what to do
This forum needs as many helpers as possible, but posts need to be useful
