Lately I have been using my webcam to film nocturnal wildlife in my garden, with the aid of a 5mt usb extension lead. This provides good live video to my PC screen, but no sound. Is it possible to have the mic on the Webcam give live sound through the PC speakers ?. I know the mic works fine because I use it all the time for Skype, but how do I get sound back to my own PC. Is this possible, with maybe some setting changes on the PC.

Hi Badger, welcome to the forums!

What you are asking should be possible. Am I right in thinking the webcam has a USB connection only, and this covers the audio and video capabilities of the device?

Also, can you confirm the version of Windows you are using?

If you go in to Volume Control, then Options and Properties, you should find the device for the camera microphone. You should un-mute this microphone.
