When I stuck my 8 GB flash stick into the back of my ancient Windows 98 desktop, it did not detect anything. So I went looking for some Windows 98 USB 2.0 drivers, found them here, and downloaded a file called Nusb33e.exe. When I tried to run it on my Windows 98 computer, I got the following error message:
| Quote: | | The 'Native USB disk driver for Windows 98SE ver.3.3' package is not compatible with the version of Windows you are running. |
I clicked the correct download for the version of Windows 98 that I have (Second Edition) so I'm not sure what I've done wrong here.
And this part is irrelevant, but the reason I want to do this is so that I can make a disk image out of all the contents on the hard drive and save it to my flash drive (it should fit). |

Is it really Win98SE or a version of Win98 that you've upgraded?
What build number does it show?
have you installed that (useless) so-called Win98 Service Pack? That screws machines up badly (I think you'll find the site admins will disagree, but thats my experieince)
Do you have any other flash drive drivers installed?
Is the chipset USB1.1 or USB2? Which chipset manufacturer? |

| I had the same problem. Actually, there is a version 4.10.1998 which is the original version of Windows 98 (98FE) and a version 4.10.2222 which is Windows 98 Second Edition (98SE). You can find the details of you Windows 98 version in installation instructions. |
