windows security center

my security center is set as off and it will not allow me to turn it on?
it desplays a message that says ....the security centre service carnt be started... can any1 help me plz?
also haveing problems with my browser not always working?

Did you turn off Windows updates etc ? or has this just happened ?

ok cool so what do think i need to do then? ty for helping me
ok well it all started to go wrong when wife had a play with the computer about 5 days ago now its all gone wrong lol i have no idea what im doing and she dont know what she did

First did you disable your security or did something do that for you ? you say your browser is not working right so with this info I'm thinking your PC may be a subject of highjack but don't worry it can be put right - so did you turn off your security ?

Ok whats your OS (operating system) XP ? Vista ? because first we can try a system restore and then download a free program to check your system, one more thing what security programs are you running ?

i also have a page that will not go away (google EULA) and now i have lost all sound?

vista i have treid to do a system restore and it comes up with erra at the end say has not been successful im running nortone but thats fine it the computer security systems that is given me greaf

I would try system restore in safe mode first
