I have a Toshiba Satellite 4090 CDS laptop with the old Windows98 operating system. I want to use wireless internet access. Can I get a wireless adaptor that works with Windows98?
Thanks for your kind help |

No wireless suport in Win98 first edition. Win98SE ONLY has support
Assuming it has a cardbus slot and Win98SE then

Note
1) you have to have Win98SE
First version of Win98 does not support wireless at all due to the diferent driver model used
2) machine has to have a cardbus slot - simple PCMCIA is not enough
3) you're not going to find an "n" rated one that works in Win98
4) stick with PCMCIA. I have doubts about USB of that age working reliably or quickly enough with wireless |

| Hello, DMBaker! If you want to continue using Win98 then go with a PCI adapter. I'm sure you can find something cheap enough on Ebay. |
