Hi,
I got a wireless usb adapter for my laptop a little bit ago, so that i could connect to the internet. http://www.trendnet.com/products/TEW-424UB.htm that thing.
I already had a wireless router in my house and two computer connected to it wirelessly, and one hardwired. the problem is that the program i got with the adapter tells me that I have at least 75 percent signal strength all the time, usually closer to 100, but the internet only works sometimes. It was working well for a while but recently it seems like its dead, it will connect for about 2 minutes, then it stops working again.
Its on an older laptop running windows 98SE.
Thanks for any help.

The antenna that come with some wireless cards are fairly poor. You may get better results if you purchase a separate antenna, preferably one on a wire so you can try various locations.

Often the software that comes with wi-fi cards is not very good, or out dated. See if you can find any updated drivers and software as this may help.
