Hi All

Im having some issues in regards to my wireless set up, Im currently on virgin broadband and have a net gear router, i use this to have broadband on my pc, wireless on to my laptop and recently wanted to have wireless on my x box.

Now when i change my settings on the router from WPA to WEP, the pc still works fine, the x box works but the laptop DOESN'T. And when i change it back from WEP to WPA the pc works the laptop works but the x box doesnt???!!

Can anyone tell me why this is? And are there any available settings on the laptop to change the laptop to accept WEP settings?

Thanks
Norm

It all depends on the age of the laptop and the support for the wireless card. Some older wireless devices do not support wpa encryption.

Try turning off the wireless antenna on the laptop so it can't see any networks, then go in to your wireless network settings and delete all the saved networks. Now turn the antenna back on and it should detect the wireless network, connect to it and enter the WEP key.
